Level 5: The Riddle of Steel (to L7)

  1. Forge

    On returning to this level, trudge all the way back to the forge, battling an acid roach and assault guardian on the way. You will have to fight a roachling and a cannon drone when you reach here. There is no ‘box’ at this spot, so ‘use’ the Ingots while facing the forge to place them. If you already placed the Gear in the template box earlier, you can now pull the lever to duplicate it. Click on the forge to pick up the duplicated Gear, take the original Gear out of the template box, and navigate back to 29.

  2. Blast Door I

    Place one Gear in this box…

  3. Blast Door II

    … and the other in this one.

  4. Pressure Plate

    Stepping here will close the door behind you.

  5. Vision

    Around here you will see a vision and black out for a few seconds. Proceed once you have recovered.

  6. Musketeer Rifle

    Rummage through this chest for a Musketeer Rifle, two Energy Cells, some ammunition, and a phonodiary.

  7. Boss Fight

    Stepping here will close the two doors out of this room and open all the side doors, releasing two welder drones, a cannon drone, a shock spider and a poison spider. The doors will reopen when they are all destroyed. In fact, the door near 31 will have also opened.

  8. Button

    Look carefully above the lamp on the western wall for a small button. Press it to open the way to a secret.

  9. Secret #17

    In this chest is a Lithe Blade and some ammunition. You can now take the elevator (C) up.
  1. Elevator down to Level 4.
  2. Stairs down to Level 6.
  3. Elevator up to Level 7.
