Dark Sun: Shattered Lands Walkthrough

38. Wyrm Temple

Overhead map of the Wyrm Temple

There are four vrocks in the room at 2, so buff up before approaching them. At 3 you’ll find a scroll of Monster Summoning III (level 5).

Speak to Tanelyv at 4 and listen to his full story patiently. Tanelyv will then want you to restore the temple by healing the magera. After listening to more of what he has to say, ask for his help in defeating Balkazar. He won’t intervene, but will give us some nice gear later.

Return to the Wyrm Belly and walk up to the slave leaders at 3. Say that you are going to heal the slaves and they will not question our intentions because we declared ourselves as Balkazar’s allies. Instruct them to not interfere with the slaves.

Zoom back to the Blind One at 2, tell him Tanelyv wants them healed and that you’ve convinced the leaders to not harm the slaves. You’ll now have to lead the Blind One all the way to 4, but you can’t zip around freely this time. He is blind, after all. Always walk just a few steps ahead of him, and take him to the temple.

Back in the temple, lead the Blind One to 5 and watch him heal. Follow his instructions and take him back to 5 in the Wrym Belly (this time you can move faster). While he is getting all his followers healed, say that you will wait. The option of ‘having other things to do’ will result in you having to watch the slaves go get healed. Saying you will wait will make the process instantaneous.

The Blind One will rally his comrades. Tell them all to revolt. The party will earn 5,000xp. Balkazar will appear briefly and be very angry. He will summon four Babau to attack us. Be watchful when fighting these creatures: weapons and armor can get corroded so check your inventory after the fight. If some of your equipment got corroded, you may want to reload.

Go speak to Tanelyv in the Wyrm Temple at 4 and he will reward you with a Ring of Insight, which increases Wisdom of the wearer by 2. If you forget to do this now, Tanelyv will forget to give it to you later, so don’t miss out on this reward.

Note: the room at 5 in the Wyrm Temple is now permanently available for resting and healing, and even reviving dead party members. Press the button at 6 to do so. The first time you enter the room, Tanelyv will give you permission to use it.

Just like healing and resurrection via the Druid of the Howling Wind in the Upper Castle, this room’s resurrection will also revive elves and half-elves, and will not result in permanent -1 Constitution.

Exit the Wyrm Belly at 6 to enter the Wyrm School.
