16. Nazca Lines

Laussa is now hanging around with Ssovan. Speak to her a little and she will offer you a gift. Accept it with honor. You’ll get a Steadfast Ring, which increases the wearer’s Constitution by 3. This doesn’t change your HP though. I assume it only affects the additional HP you get at subsequent level-ups. There is no straightforward way to test this, so I am not sure.

16.1. Feeling Salty

Roaming around 3 (could be anywhere between the dragon’s head and legs), is a man named Toonuu. Speak to him and tell him he is very rude. Continue down that dialogue path and he will eventually agree to sell you salt for 2,000cp. If you ask him to lower the price, he will go down to 1,800cp. Agree to the bargain and buy the salt. This will open up an additional encounter in the Red Sands Plateau.

16.2. The Psionicist

Lastly, speak to the man roaming around at 4. Maris will keep wandering from one end of the ‘2’ to the other. After introducing yourself, ask about the path, enlightenment and about forgetting your own name. He’ll ask you to follow him if you want to. He expects you to traverse the design of the ‘2’, but that is not necessary: you can directly go from one point to the other. The fifth time you touch one of the ends, the party leader gets 500xp.

Speak again to Maris and ask to master a psionic power. He will now be willing to sell you bracelets of Ego Whip, Synaptic Static, Intellect Fortress, and Psionic Blast. He also sells a Quarterstaff +2 and a lemon, but note that you will no longer be able to access his store after buying the last bracelet. Right now I can only afford Ego Whip, so that’s what I will buy. I can sell the bracelet of Project Force and buy Synaptic Static too, but I’m a hoarder of magical items, even though I am well aware that I will never use some of them. Fortunately, I can resist the temptation to buy the Quarterstaff +2 because I don’t use two-handed weapons.

16.3. A’Poss’s Heart

If you have a shovel, place it on the ground in the dragon’s eye at 5, then right-click to use it. You will dig up a chest which has A’Poss’s Heart, and a scroll of Flame Arrow (level 3). We will meet A’Poss’ spirit later and will need his heart, so hang on to it.

Leave Nazca Lines at 1 and then exit White Sands to the east at 6 to arrive at the Red Sands Plateau.
